Our Top Tips for How to Style Your Wedding Ring

Congratulations, you’re engaged! You’re completely in love with your stunning engagement ring, and now’s the time to choose a beautiful wedding band to go with it. Although shopping for a stunning wedding ring that perfectly complements your engagement ring might sound like fun, it’s a lot more challenging than you might think.

To help take the headache out of wedding ring shopping, here are some tips on how to find the perfect wedding band to match your engagement ring and what else to consider when it comes to wedding rings.

How to choose a wedding ring?

Deciding which wedding ring you want is no easy decision to make. Since the ring will be on your finger forever, choosing a style that never gets old is vital. There is no set-in-stone answer as to whose responsibility it is to buy the wedding rings for the ceremony. Therefore, make sure to explore the market for yourself before making the final purchase decision.

When choosing a wedding ring, there are some key things to consider– the first being what budget you’re going to set for the wedding band and engraving. Once this is decided, start exploring the market early rather than leaving it to be a last-minute decision!

Also, don’t be afraid to get creative when choosing your wedding bands. If your partner prefers white gold but you favour yellow gold bands, then mix and match them! Nothing is stopping you.

Other than the short-term aspects to consider when purchasing your wedding ring, there are also some long-term ones to think about. For example, how much maintenance does the ring require? Depending on the type of metal type and cut you choose, some rings require more maintenance than others. Furthermore, it’s important to remember that trends come and go, so choosing a ring you won’t get bored of seeing thirty years down the line is vital – although you could always purchase another one if this does happen, so it’s not too big of a stress.

How to match your engagement ring to your wedding band

How to match your engagement ring to your wedding band

When it comes to pairing together engagement rings with wedding rings, there are a variety of different styles you can mix and match together depending on your preference. In need of some inspiration? Here, we discuss some of our most stylish recommendations for creating the ultimate wedding and engagement ring look.

Match a shoulder engagement ring with a diamond wedding band?

Wear two rows of sparkling gemstones on your ring finger by pairing a diamond shoulder engagement ring with a wedding band that features a channel of diamonds, such as our Venus collection of rings. As long as you use the same size or shape of diamonds in both rings, they’ll look amazing together.

Contrast a solitaire engagement ring with a diamond wedding band?

Add an extra layer of glamour to a simple solitaire engagement ring by choosing a diamond wedding band with a small number of diamonds. Providing the diamonds in the wedding band are smaller than the one on your engagement ring, they won’t distract from the solitaire and will only enhance the overall look.

Complement a vintage engagement ring with an intricate wedding band?

If you’ve got a vintage engagement ring, it’s a good idea to complement it with a vintage wedding band, such as our Carina range of bands. Two stacked rings with intricate designs that feature a lot of tiny details are always alluring and eye-catching.

Pair a trilogy ring with a plain wedding band?

Let the extravagance of a three-stone engagement ring shine by pairing it with a simple wedding band. All you’ve got to do is match the design of the engagement ring band to the wedding ring band. For example, if your engagement ring features a comfort-shaped band, choose a wedding ring with a comfort-shaped band too and the final look will be incredible.

Match or contrast metal colours

Whether you decide to match or contrast the metal colours on your rings is totally up to you. A white gold wedding ring combined with a yellow or rose gold engagement ring will look gorgeous. But some metals just don’t work together. Have a look at a few examples online and see which combinations stand out to you.

Create your own unique wedding band

If you have a unique shaped engagement ring and you’re struggling to find a perfectly matching wedding band, consider designing your own one-of-a-kind ring. With Angelic Diamonds’ bespoke design service, we work alongside you to create the wedding band of your dreams. When you’re totally happy with the design, one of our expert jewellers turns your dream ring into reality.

What order do you wear your wedding, engagement, and eternity ring set?

There is no strict way to wear your wedding, engagement, and eternity rings, however, there are some popular preferences. Many choose to wear their eternity ring on their ring finger on the left hand above the engagement ring and wedding ring. This can make for a stunning display if all three rings complement each other.

However, if the rings don’t all match or the bands look too thick together, then others choose to move their eternity ring to the fourth finger on their right hand and just keep the wedding and engagement ring together.

What do I engrave on a wedding ring?

Deciding on the small, personalised engraving to get on your wedding ring should be special and unique to you and your partner. Of course, the limited space available does restrict your options, however, the message itself can be anything you wish.

What do I engrave on a wedding ring

To help spark some creativity, here are some of our personal favourites.

You could keep it simple by getting the date you decided to tie the knot as a constant reminder of your special day. Or, you could get the nickname you have for each other imprinted on the ring. Since the idea of marriage is to make a life-long commitment to each other, you could get something that symbolises this. This could be an infinity sign engraving or something as simple as ‘always’ or ‘forever’.

Our bespoke wedding rings aren’t exclusively for customers who’ve purchased Angelic Diamonds engagement rings. Regardless of where your engagement ring came from, we can create a unique wedding band that meets all your requirements and matches your engagement ring perfectly.
