1. Affordability: Wine and meal costs (lower is better)
2. Romantic Venues: Percentage of romantic restaurants and hotels (higher is better)
3. Sunshine: Annual sunny hours (more is better)

 

Scoring:

1. Each factor was ranked between 0 and 1 relative to other cities, with the best-performing city scoring 1 and the worst scoring 0.
2. For example, the city with the lowest wine cost received a rank of 1, while the city with the highest wine cost received a rank of 0. All other cities were ranked proportionally between these two extremes.

 

The final "Romantic City Score" (out of 100) was calculated using weighted factors:
